A Note From the Principal 1/22/21
A Note from the Principal
Happy 82nd day of in-school instruction!!! Can you believe January is more than half way over? As I write this, our registration is well under way. I am so happy to report that almost 100% of our families have already returned their forms and we will have close to a 100% student return for next year! We are continuing to get requests for openings for the 2021-2022 school year and many grades have a waiting list. As those lists grow, we will open new sections. Spread the word! More students mean smaller classes for all of us! Don’t forget about the Ambassador Program! You benefit financially with every family that you bring in! See the flyer.
INFORMATION NIGHT OF PROSPECTIVE PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES
Our Information Night for Preschool and Kindergarten will be held this coming Monday Night, 1/25/21, at 6:30 in the gym. To ensure adherence to our school’s safety policies, this is an RSVP event. If you know someone who might be interested in attending Seton for grades PK-6, please have them contact Karen Johnson [email protected] to reserve a seat.
We will also, provide individual tours after school hours for anyone who needs that accommodation. Seton is Rochester’s best kept secret and we need to continue spreading the news about our school and what it has to offer! Like us on Facebook, Instagram, and tell all your friends!
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
One of our favorite weeks is almost upon us! This year Catholic Schools Week (CSW) begins Sunday 1/31/21 and concludes Saturday 2/6/21. We have made many changes to make this week a success while still keeping us all safe. We are all eagerly awaiting this week of fun and celebration! Attached is a schedule of events for grades Kindergarten-6.
The Preschool classes have their own schedule because of the many program options. Our goal is to provide opportunities for all of our preschoolers get to enjoy the many fun events too! Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Koerner will send home their schedule soon.
VIRTUAL STORY TIME
Check out the virtual Story Time flyer in the Green Envelope! This is hosted by the Nazareth College Marist Young Adults on January 27 at 6:00pm.
ANGELS OF MERCY SERVICE PROJECT
We are continuing to help collect donations for the Angels of Mercy. Megan Allen, a Seton Alumna and current Mercy senior, has asked for our help with her Motto Project. She is collecting office supplies, cleaning supplies and toiletries (full or travel size soap) for the Angels of Mercy. I also suggest that students could create cards of encouragement to add to the donations.
The Angels of Mercy, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the transformation, restoration and hope for women in need. Please send your items to school starting Monday January 18th – Monday February 15th. There are designated boxes in the hallways. Please help if you can.
REPORT CARDS
Next Friday 1/29/21, is the close of our 2nd quarter for grading period. You children’s report cards will be available for you on MSP on Friday 2/6/21 after 2:30pm.
OUTDOOR CLOTHES
Our classes go outside every day for about 30 minutes! Fresh air and exercise are so important for our students’ growing bodies and minds. It is very essential that your children are dressed for the weather. Please be sure they come to school with snow pants, winter coats, gloves/mittens, hats, scarves, etc. I suggest sending in a school set, that way their winter clothes are here waiting for them. It’s no fun to be cold.
CONGRATULATION TO MRS. COLE AND FAMILY!
Last week Mrs. Jessica Cole and her husband John Billitier welcomed their new beautiful baby boy, John Joseph Cole into this world! He was born at 8:03 am on 1/13/2021 and weighed 7 lbs – 11 oz. While Mrs. Cole is out on maternity leave, Ms. Hayley Fredrick is teaching her classes. Congratulations Jess!
