A Note from the Principal 5-7-21
April ended a little chilly but it didn’t stop us from having a great time at our Food Truck Rodeo and our BLAST celebration! You’ll find more about BLAST below. May is the month for giving thanks to all who work in our school. This week we spent time thanking everyone who has worked so very hard to teach us and keep us safe at school. Not only was it Teacher Appreciation Week, but also a time to thank everyone in the building who has had a positive impact on our daily school lives. Your children did you proud. Not only did some bring in flowers and small gifts, everyone made cards for all of us! Our teachers and staff truly know they are well loved –these little extras really mean a lot!
In addition, thank you to everyone for making Principal’s Day so special for me. I was truly touched by your generosity.
BLAST!
Our BLAST was such a great success! Thank you to everyone. Whether you sold tickets, came to the Food Truck Rodeo, participated in our BLAST Virtual Celebration, sent in a paddle call pledge, or worked behind the scenes, everyone one of you was responsible for that success. Our children’s quality education is our motivation and you showed you are part of the team.
I’d like to call out the BLAST committee for their countless hours of work. Shannon Hansford and her team went above and beyond reinventing BLAST for us. At the beginning of the year, we didn’t know how we would be able to celebrate together but these people put on their creative thinking caps and made it work! I’m still in awe and so very grateful.
There is one last push for Paddle Call Pledges. The 6th graders had so much fun creating the video to explain our school’s need. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QN2gyinrY4&list=PLuplNLkt6XTiC4HlTqE66opKnE1sQ9Du-&index=3
If you’d like to help out in the effort to purchase new “Smartboard” technology for our classrooms but haven’t had a chance to send in you pledge form, I’ve attached a copy of the pledge form to this email. Just fill it out and send it in with your donation. Any donation no matter the size is deeply appreciated.
