Note from the Principal 11/14/19

Seton Catholic School. Learning and living kindness.
Thursday November 14

Note from the Principal 11/14/19

November is quickly getting away from us! Tomorrow all kindergarten -6th grade children will be bringing home their first report cards of the year. They have worked hard and their efforts show in their grades. Please celebrate the job they are doing with them.

On Monday and Tuesday November 25 & 26, the children have a half day of school. Teachers will be here in the afternoons and early evenings to meet with you for Parent/Teacher conferences. If you have not yet made your appointment, please contact your child’s teacher to set up a time to meet. This conference is mandatory.

Thanksgiving break begins on Wednesday, November 27th. We will have a Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Tuesday 11/26th at 9:00 am led by the 2nd grade. We hope you all enjoy family and friends while feasting on some turkey and pie.

GRANDPARENTS/SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY

Thank you to everyone who gave their time to make our Grandparents and Special Friends feel welcome! We were blessed to have over 200 guests in attendance! It was a wonderful day!

BARNES & NOBLE BOOK FAIR

The book fair was very successful! About 110 students came with their families to the book fair! It’s always so nice to see Seton families out and about together! Our Art Show was wonderfully displayed on the 2nd floor of the store! Thank you to Mrs. Bell for setting up the display and to Sarah Korba for coordinating the event! Thank you for supporting our PTA!

CHRISTMAS CONCERT NOW K-3

Our Christmas Concert this year will feature our students in grades kindergarten -3rd grade. More information about arrival time and dress code will be coming home soon. Check out the “Dates to remember” for date and times.

We ask that you bring a restaurant gift card, an Amazon Gift Card, or a cash donation to support our school’s largest fundraiser, BLAST. See you then!

DECEMBER OPEN HOUSE

Our last Open Houses were so successful we thought we’d do it again! On Tuesday, Dec. 10th, from 9:00-1:00, we will welcome prospective families into our building to check us out! Please help us spread the word and let your neighbors know how much you love our school. Consider sharing the Open House as an event on Facebook and tell everyone you know that you belong to the Seton family!

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH

At our Grandparents/Special Friends Prayer Service we honored two students for being exceptional role models for all of us. Viola Walsh (Grade 3) and Sammy Cummings (kindergarten) were both nominated by their teachers. It was so nice to be able to honor these fine students! Our next Students of the Month will be awarded at our Advent Prayer Service.

Congratulations Viola & Sammy!

SCHOOL START TIME

Please remember, our school day begins at 8:00. The children are allowed into their classrooms at 7:50. If you drop off your child after 8:00 they are considered tardy. Please make every attempt to get your child to school on time!

PARISH LIAISONS NEEDED

We are looking to strengthen our ties and build our relationships with our local parishes. Our goal is to have 2-3 parents from each parish, who can communicate our mission and keep the parishes up-dated on activities happening here at Seton. This is a low commitment volunteer opportunity. If you are interested in working to build these ties with your church, please email Mrs. Selig. [email protected]
